Battery drain on Version 2.68

I believe I had the battery drain issue on my Venu SQ2 version 2.66 that others had experienced.  I noticed last week I updated to 2.68.  The two times I recharged with version 2.68 the battery went from 100% to around 80% shortly afterwards (within an hour).

  • I had the exact same issue with my watch earlier this year (February 2025). At the time, support advised me to remove all third-party apps and custom layouts, and also to update the watch to the latest software version. It seemed to help a littleat first, but over time the battery just kept getting worse.

    Now, in April 2025, the watch is completely dead — won’t charge or turn on — and it’s not even 2 years old.

    Fortunately, support offered me a free replacement under warranty. If you haven’t already, I definitely recommend reaching out to them directly. They were pretty responsive in my case.

    I really hope they fix this in future software updates. I’ll check what version comes with the new watch, and I might try disabling auto-updates — if that’s even possible.

  • The device is now 22 months old. So in Feb 2025, it was 20 months old - that's when the first battery drain issue occurred.

    At that time, I also experienced my first glitch — the watch froze when I tried to end a swimming workout. A hard reset helped at the time. However, I also began to notice significant battery degradation.

    Until then, I had no issues at all.
