Venu Sq 2 stuck?

Hi everyone,

I’m experiencing an issue with my Garmin SQ 2 Music, which is just over two years old. As soon as I take it off the charger, it immediately shuts off. When it’s plugged back in, it turns on right away and shows that it’s fully charged at 100%.

I’ve already tried doing a factory reset while it’s connected to the charger, but unfortunately, that didn’t solve the problem. Holding down the buttons for an extended period also hasn’t helped.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? I’m really hoping it’s not a hardware problem, especially since it’s just past the warranty period.

Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated!

  • Even though it's out of warranty, I would still reach out to Product Support through their website at https://support.garmin.com.

  • Hello I have exactly the same problem now and I think my gadmin sq music  is also two years old

Did you fix the issue anyway? Thanks for your help

  • I have exactly same issue after 2y 3m of use, which seems to be faulty battery (with unknown reasons why battery failed).

Garmin Support can only offer replacement for $130 , but only reconditioned watch, means not new and warranty 1y or less. This opton is not resonating with me well, as there is no guarantee battery of reconditioned watch won't fail. Instead I'm going to replace the battery myself and see if it helps (new battery is about $17)

  • This just happened to me today. It won't turn on anymore without being plugged and when it's plugged it's stuck with the blue triangle then shuts down again ..

  • Hi. My wife is experiencing the same issue!

  • Most likely, it's a battery problem, so you have few options:

Report to Garmin Support (chat), they can offer paid replacement (~$150) for a "reconditioned" copy (not new). ALternatively they may offer a small trade off discount for newer Garmin device.

Unfortunately, it seems they can't fix your watch directly, and they can't sell you the battery.

Another option is - DIY repair, which is risky (battery may explode if handled wrong), case may be damaged during opening and not properly  sealed afterwards. I went this route because spare battery is only ~$20 and I have tools, skills and sentimental attachment to this Garmin model. I replaced battery and it holds as new for up to ~9 days, working great for few months already.
