Garmin map zoom levels and Venu 4

On Venu 4, using the Map data field, it looks impossible to set a different zoom level then the default 0.3.

Even following the indications on the manual the "map control" menu declared on the support pages doesn't appear to be available.

Can anybody check this and try to solve?

Thanks

Enrico

  • YES! This is primary reason I want to return my Venu4. It's basically USELESS for using the map. I WISH mine was stuck at 0.3 again but SOMEHOW I managed to change to 0.5 and now it's so far zoomed out that it's useless for following hiking trail.

The Instruction manual for the Venu 4 is simply wrong... It does not work the way it's documented. Any kind of swiping on the map view does not pan or zoom or the map, it goes to the music display or goes back to the exercise menu, or goes to the next or previous page. Tapping does nothing.

PLEASE GARMIN! Fix this map issue on our $550 watches. Just make the zoom function SIMPLE... like tap the screen and little +, -, and PAN buttons appear. Tapping + or - causes the map to zoom in or out, and then tap the map again to hide the zoom buttons... Likewise, tapping PAN removes the additional buttons and allows you to move the breadcrumb map around without changing pages, then tapping the screen again makes the buttons reappear to allow zooming or panning again, or tapping away from the buttons to go back to normal page viewing.

  • Still present in version 16.28... The course map without this feature, is useful at 50%. I have to take out my phone every time i need a course view
