My Venu 4 has frozen mid run

I was doing a race and my watch has frozen. I had to reset it and lost 5min of the run and gps… why did it happen? should it be repaired or was it a bug?

    I had the same issue! Very annoying. It seems to be an issue. Any word from Garmin on it?

    It happened to me on my first run with it Disappointed thinking about returning it. Reliability should be their priority instead of adding new features. I also had a few minutes where it showed a low heart rate during that run.

    4. What Activity were you recording when the device froze?
    5. Were you using the music feature when this occurred?
    6. What music app were you using?
    7. Were you playing music (how big of a playlist) or a podcast?
    8. What Brand and model of headphones do you have paired?
    9. One the device froze, what did it take to get it back to normal function?

    Of course you can contact me and view/access my account. it was a 10km race on 28.09. I live in Poland.

    I had a similar problem yesterday. At the end of the run, I stop the recording using the top button. The watch freezes, and restarted. Thankfully, it gave me upon restarting the option to save the run: I click save, and it freezes and restarted again. I can now see the run in the Connect app but the running metrics like Lactate Threshold are not updated. It was my first run with the watch and man, I am so disappointed! I am coming from the Venu 3. It's not a cheap watch. Garmin really should do better!

    Did Garmin ever provide a solution for this to you? Or did they just mark their last request as solution to close the topic?

    They didn't. However I ran the day before yesterday and the watch didn't freeze upon recording the exercise. I'll report back if I encounter a similar issue. I still think the watch is overpriced as it lacks a proper map and the faces are quite bad comparing to what you can find at the competition.

    Dobrý den, mám stejný problém. Hodinky Venu 4 mám týden. Skoro pokaždé při běhu se zaseknou, musím restartovat, pak je nesmyslný tep, a část kroků se  při běhu se smaže. Jsem z toho zklamaná.

    Mám stejný problém. Mám Venu 4 nové 10 dnů a zasekávají se při běhu. Poslouchám Spotify přes iPad sluchátka. Po pár km je najednou ticho a když se podívám na hodinky, displej je zamrzlý, čísla jsou vidět, ale jsou zaseklé.  Někdy během běhu se to stane opakovaně. Nefunguje žádné tlačítko, musím je restartovat. Poté to naběhne, nějakou dobu ukazují nesmyslný tep a zmizí i kroky pře zaseknutím. Takže po běhu místo 7000 kroků mám jen 4000. Dělá to prakticky při každém běhu. Mimo aktivity během dne nezamrzají. Jsem z nich zklamaná.

    Exactly same behavior for me. I notice it when music goes silent.

    Yesterday, after talking with Garmin support, I installed the beta software version 15 and went to test it right away. After 3.5 km the same problem happened again – the music stopped and the data on the screen froze. … Then we took the watch back to the store for a warranty claim. It was 10 days after purchase, so they immediately replaced it with a new one of the same model. At home we set it up, and the software version is 14.12. We will test it today during the day.
