black screen

I have seen previous threads on this issue but wanted to see if there is anything new. My 2 yr old Venu 3 keeps showing a black screen and will not respond to any controls. The watch is alive and active. Each morning i have to do a full reset and make sure the screen always on setting is enabled. This keeps the watch screen alive for the day. However, when i go to sleep, the watch screen turns off and will not turn on until a reset.  i have fully factory reset with no luck. I have connected to the Pc and synched - no luck.

all sensors are working and the watch is connecting to garmin connect. The issue is just the screen going black and not responding.  this defeats the purpose of a watch.

i do not feel like spending the full amount to buy a Venu 4 yet.

  • I have same problem man. I’ve had my instinct E for about 3 months. I had an apple watch before but I wanted to take my marathon training more seriously so I thought garmin would help me.

Within the first two weeks I had it the display would go completely black off and on. But now it is not even bothering displaying anything. I can’t track my progress on my runs anymore because I can’t even start a workout. All I can do is go on the connect app and check my heart rate and sleep score.

I contacted support about a month ago and they want me to ship the watch back to them and they would send a replacement in 20 days for free. But shipping was quite expensive from where I was a month ago.

Garmin support does the bare minimum for support and I see that this is a reoccurring issue for lots of garmin users.

I have a marathon coming up in a month and I haven’t been able to track any of my progress or even check the time for having a “watch.”

If I pay 400$ for a watch I would hope it would display the time and work like a regular watch.

    Garmin you failed my expectations

  • update: My Venu 3, that i was keeping alive during the day received a firmware update. The update changed the clock face which is not normal and then when the battery ran out - the watch will no longer start at all. I plug it into the charger and nothing seems to happen.  i have had to purchase a Venu 4.
