Recently upgraded from V2+ to V3. Waited for V4 release but it offered no features I needed, worse battery life and expensive.
The V2+ claims 9 days battery life in smartwatch mode and the V3 claims 14 days in smartwatch mode. I have both watches configured identically; went through each setting on both watches to ensure exactness. Both watches are being used, activities, etc. the same.
The V2+ averaged 7 days per charge for the past several years.
The V3 configured identically is only achieving 8 days per charge.
Given the V3 advertises and additional 5 days of battery life over the V2+, I would think I'd see more than 1 additional day of battery life from the V3 over the V2+
I contacted Garmin Support and they couldn't give me a solid answer to the cause of the V3 battery issue; other than to say turn off Pulse Ox.
I use Pulse Ox at night only - for both the V2+ and the V3. The only thing I can think that might cause the V3 to drain battery faster is that the newer Elevate v5 sensor uses for more power than than the V2+ Elevate v4 sensor.
Can anyone provide additional insight on this matter?
Thanks -
