Venu 3 - terrible battery drain with FW 16.07 and/or 17.01

Hello,

unfortunately since FW 16.07 I have been experiencing excessive battery consumption.

Compared to other firmware versions, I have not changed anything on the watch or its settings.

Even updating to 17.01 did not improve the situation.

The battery is completely empty within three or four days after a full charge. And no activity was tracked or anything like that. The only thing running is sleep detection.

I also restarted the watch, but unfortunately that did not help.

Does anyone else have this problem and possibly a solution?

This means that the watch is currently simply unusable.

Hello,

I have the same problem after updating to OS version 17.01—the battery drains very quickly.

I took the same steps but without success.

Add me to the list as well of having this issue.

I've also noticed that my HR tracking stopped completely. I'm curious if any of you others that are experiencing the issue have noticed that the HR sensor on the back no longer lights up.

Update to 17.01 [yesterday] caused total failure to capture sleep data and body battery last night, and now the battery consumption has shot up by over 50%.

Called Support - they tell me the data was captured [but it is still not showing in the watch or Connect app] - and they said to wait a day of 2 to see if it appears, and for the increase in battery consumption to subside.

He said it should subside by itself. Said it was normal after an update. As an ex-software developer, I'm not convinced since this update for the Venu3 was a very minor one that seems to have introduced more problems than it fixed -judging by the posts on this forum.

NOT directing this at you, but that sounds like a load of crap to me. Unless they're running some debugging services on the back end that they plan to turn off at some point, why would an update cause battery consumption to skyrocket and then just stop on it's own? What is it this updste, a pair of jeans that came out of the dryer too tight, but if we wear them for a few hours, they'll fit better again?

Do you also notice a complete loss of all HeartRate data? Does your green light sensor come on at all? I suspect not based on your lack of sleep data and body battery. You can force it to try to by going to the HR details. After this update, I'm just getting "--"

I agree. I told you I wasn't convinced. Such a minor update should not cause so many problems. The list of problems caused by this 'minor' update that I've seen posted here so far includes:

missing sleep & body battery data
missing respiration data
high battery consumption
buttons not working
right swipe not working [fixed by a reboot]
ECG app not working

No doubt there will be more.

Initially yes, I was getting "--" as well. Then I ran it manually and it seems to be working again.
