Hello,
Yesterday was my first attempt at connecting my Venu 3 to the Concept2 row erg but I wasn't entirely successful. My intention was to broadcast HR to the PM5 display to see it during my activity, and to have a simultaneous smart control connection to get distance/stroke data from the PM5 display to the Venu 3. I first paired the devices by adding the Concept2 row as a smart trainer which was successful (I think I chose the "modern" connection type). I then enabled HR broadcast in Venu 3 settings and then paired this up on the PM5 display. On the Venu 3 I then went back to the activity menu to start the activity.
During the activity however I didn't see the heart rate on the PM5 display but I was correctly receiving distance/stroke data (which I confirmed after stopping and saving activity). I confirmed after my work out that broadcast HR works on the PM5 display (without starting an activity on Venu 3). I am not sure whether I did something wrong with broadcasting, so wanted to double check whether it should be possible to broadcast HR to Concept2 row erg AND have smart trainer connection at the same time?
My second question would be, if I were to get a HRM 200, could I simultaneously:
- pair HRM 200 and Venu 3 (Yes)
- Use HRM 200 heart rate via Venu 3 to broadcast to Concept2 row during rowing activity
- smart trainer connection between Venu 3 and Concept 2 row for distance/stroke data during rowing activity
My intention with this is getting the best heart rate quality from HRM 200 and collect all data points with Venu 3 without using 3 party apps. Does anyone have any experience with this?
EDIT: Alternatively, would it be possible to cut out step 2 above by broadcasting HR to Venu 3 and Concept2 row directly from HRM 200 and then have the smart trainer connection between Venu 3 and Concept 2 row?
