I’m using a Venu 3S together with an Edge 1040 for biking. My setup is that the Venu 3S broadcasts heart rate to the Edge 1040 and the Edge records the main activity. I also keep the Venu recording as a backup. I’ve tried both methods - broadcasting HR only and broadcasting HR while also recording an activity on the watch.
Recently, the HR connection between the Venu 3S and the Edge 1040 has started to drop randomly during rides. Sometimes it works perfectly for an hour, then suddenly the HR disappears from the Edge. Other times it may disconnect every few minutes — or not at all.
When the HR broadcast drops, the watch shows a notification saying that it has lost connection to my phone. So it looks like the Bluetooth connection to the phone and the HR broadcast to the Edge both fail at the same moment.
I’ve already tried removing all device pairings and reinstalling everything, as well as deleting and re-creating all Bluetooth connections on every device. Unfortunately, the issue still persists.
Edge 1040: 28.34, Venu 3S: 16.07, iOS: 26.0.1
Has anyone else experienced similar behavior or found a workaround?
