I'm not sure why watches / phones track steps while in high speed. Why can't step tracking be shut off when GPS sees you going over 15mph or a set speed? I've done "8000 steps" in my car the last 6 hours

To preserve battery life, the Venu3 GPS isn't active unless tracking an activity. Because of that, it can't be used to discard fake steps when driving, etc... Some other means is needed.
Unlike Fitbit, Garmin does not update corrections back to the watch! I wish it would. I occasionally drive off from walking and miles (not steps) keep tracking. I go to Connect and do an Edit then a Trim activity and adjust the time on the activity that I drove off on. However the watch Venu 3 never gets updated. Wish it would!!
