Venu 3 cutting off sleep

Hello,

I have this irritating issue where the watch automatically stops the sleep when I go to the bathroom or look after the baby and greets me with the "good morning"-stats altough I always go back to sleep for another 3h.

This means I have to manually set the real wake up time in the app but then it only shows a "blank bar of sleep" with no real data. This is extremely frustrating.

My sleep schedule in the watch is set to 10pm - 8am which doesnt seem to help.

Can anyone offer help?

  • Hi!

Your description indicates the device is working as designed. While the sleep schedule helps your device more accurately identify your sleep patterns within this established window, it still considers heart rate, stress level and movement amount when determining awake/sleep status. The article below gives more detail

My Watch Stops Recording Sleep When I Get Up in the Middle of the Night

  • Someone at Garmin really needs to fix this. If you get up to pee and go back to sleep minutes later, it wipes out any sleep you had before. Or, as described, ends your sleep. I need to correct the sleep times almost every day.

  • I strongly disagree. Our Garmin devices should reliably perform the functions they are designed for and advertised with — in this case, accurate sleep tracking.

In earlier firmware versions, there was a feature where the watch would prompt the user with a question like, “Are you awake?” If the user ignored the notification, the watch continued tracking sleep; if the user tapped the checkmark for “yes,” it stopped. This simple interaction ensured much greater accuracy.

The current behavior is purely a software limitation. Implementing this again would be a relatively minor change, yet it would significantly improve the experience for many users facing the same problem.

I urge the development team to prioritize this fix in an upcoming update.
