Garmin connect and Garmin Venu 3

For the past three months I have been in the NT and the top of WA, where network coverage is nonexistent.. To my disappointment, I was not able to use the Garmin connect has it doesn't store anything on my phone apparently, and it need the network to access any of your data..

Question is? Why can some data be stored on the phone and allow us to use it even when the network is not available???

As it stands, it is useless when in the bush!!! Not sure if Venu 3 can hold three months of daily data.

  • Hello!

Afraid I am not going to have the answers you want but I will try

    1) There are several ways to sync (Garmin Connect App, Garmin Express, Wi-Fi Sync) but all will require either Wi-Fi or cellular coverage

    2) Your assessment is correct, a connection is required and the data is not stored locally on the phone

    3) I have seen devices hold a month, even 2 sometimes of data, I can't say that I have ever seen 3 months

  • That's not good news, as about 80% of Australia Still has NO network coverage.. Once you are out of the few major cities and town, you are on your own...

Oh well, next time we travel Australia, I will leave the Garmin watch home then...
