Step count is way off

Hi,

I've been testing a Venu 3 against my Venu 2, and the step count is way off.   For instance, today the Venu 3 read 8,832 steps while the Venu 2  read 11,815.  The Venu 3 missed about 3,000 steps.  Any ideas why this might be the case?

Thanks,

K

  • Hello!

Take a look at My Garmin Watch is Not Accurately Counting Steps for reasons there may be a difference. Most reasons will be related to your arm swings differing throughout the day

I don't wear watches on both wrist often. However, when I have I noticed differences when...

I drive. I drive when my left hand on the wheel and right on the gear shift. The hand on the wheel is more likely to vibrate which can cause additional steps to accrue

I walk my dogs. I hold the leashes in my right hand which reduces my arm swing almost entirely, causing the device on my right hand to not count steps while the left continues to do so.

  • I have exactly the same issue. I know how many steps I do a day 'upgraded' to the 3 and suddenly i'm doing thousands less steps, sleep is well off too. Contacted Garmin, followed all the troubleshooting with no look, seems a lot of complaints about this with the Venu 3 series unfortunately, with such an expensive watch too.
