Gender for golf tees.

I have a golf related question. My wife is using the Venu 3 S for golf.  The problem we are running into is that she is playing from the men's tees.  The system doesn't  recognize her gender when setting the par and calculating her handicap.  From the (men's) white tees, it is a par 71.  For women, it is a par 73.

  • The tee selection offered at the beginning of the round will be based on the course map data in our system for the specific golf course you are playing.

Depending on the course, the tee box selection will be based on the last update to our mapping from official sources for that course. The tee box selection showing is dependent on how the course has chosen to label their tee boxes, and the slope index rating assigned to the tee box selection offered at the course.

There are also specific devices that factor gender into the tee box selection which is outlined on the Garmin Support page linked here: Incorrect Par Based on Gender The article linked provides the specific devices compatible with using the gender set in the User Profile settings on the device to determine the par for the course.

The Venu 3S is not listed as a device compatible with factoring gender into the tee box rating, but if you are certain that the course has a tee box selection showing on the scorecard that is not listed in the tee box selection displaying on the watch as the round is being started...you can submit a Golf Course Report Form for our golf map cartography team to review to incorporate any changes that need to be made for the course you are referring to.
