[Bug] No call sound until hitting volume up or down

After entering running or walking activity, and after trying to call somebody from watch or answer a call, there's no incoming sound. The interlocutor hears me, but I can't hear him.

A temporary solution is to select the phone app on the watch and enter the volume, click volume up or down, then you can hear the sound from the call

What may be cause this is that I have voice information about heart rate zones turned on during activities.

Also, when calling somebody and when voice message about HR zone starts, the watch microphone is automatically disabled for a time of voice message, but it's not so important for me as the problem above with no sound until pressing volume up or down of the call application screen

Update

Unfortunately, not only during a run, but also during inactivity, simply when I call someone on the watch or answer a call, I simply have no sound, only pressing the phone app and pressing the volume down or volume up key causes the sound from the phone to appear in the watch speaker, so this is not a bug related to running activity or walking activity

FW 13.19

  • Just out of curiosity, what phones do you all have? Because maybe the problem lies with the phone, not the watch.

  • Pixel 7 on Android 15.  Again, when answering calls I cannot hear incoming person until I adjust the speaker volume.  I've repeated the test of attempting to play music in the morning after sleep mode and need to do the volume adjustment as I previously described. Then the phone volume works.   Interestingly, I tried the Voice Assistant before doing the speaker volume activation  "what is today's weather" and it worked fine.  Next, I tried to play Music and still had to touch the volume up or down to hear it.

  • I have a Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra Android 15

  • After a lot of torture and with the help of ChatGPT I managed to overcome the problem with calls. The problem was that when picking up the handset from the clock, the sound was not heard until you adjust the volume down or up on the clock, the actual recipe (only for android):
    1. Download and install MacroDroid
    2. open and give all permissions
    3. customize
    a) Go to the bottom of the panel to macros, press +, then add a trigger “Calls and SMS”, there select “Call Active”.
    b) Add actions, select “Macros”, “Time delay” - 1 second.
    c) Add another action, select “Volume”, select “Volume Up/Down”, select “Volume Up”.
    d) Add another action, select “Macros”, “Time Delay” - 1 second.
    e) Add another action, select “Volume”, select “Volume up/down”, select “Volume down”.
    4. After customization, enter any name, I have Garmin and any description, I have VENU 3, save.
    5. Reboot the phone that MacroDroid started. Before rebooting, I disabled application optimization, allowed system settings management, removed the slider from the item “Suspend at idle”.

  • Are you joking? Installing macrodroid may be only temporary fix

I bought Huawei Watch GT 4 Classic 41mm for my mom for mother's day gift. She can call and talk through the watch, without any problems, there's huge Bluetooth range, the phone can rest at one end of house and she is on the opposite end and there's no problems. No disconnection, speaker in Huawei is loud and microphone very sensitive.

Our venu 3 firmware developers should really get solidly to work

  • I bought a zeblaze GTR 3 PRO for my mother-in-law for 20$, she is happy, she can make and receive calls and when the phone is in the house and she is outside the watch catches the connection perfectly via bluetooth, the range is great and keeps 14 days on a charge. I myself walk around with such a crutch for now, because the developers are in no hurry to fix the problem. I was told in the support service that no one has contacted them with this problem and the reason for it is the phone. It is strange to hear such answers from them. Good thing I didn't buy a fenix 8. It would be a waste of money

  • So I decided to test it myself. I called my mom, who has a Venu 3s and a Samsung A34 running Android 14. The first time, I couldn't hear what was being said to me, but my mom could hear me clearly through the speaker on the Venu 3s. I hung up and called again. This time, both my mom and I could hear each other clearly. I'm not sure if that first call and the issue with one-way audio is relevant or if it was just a coincidence. Try it yourself and see if reconnecting solves the audio issue.
