Google voice assistant issue

Hello

I updated my venu3 to latest firmware (13.19) just a few minutes ago and I was happy to read in changelog report "Improvements to Voice Assistant interactions with various Android phones"

  1. My happiness stopped just later to have a long press on central button of my V3 SmileJoy

I've not any ideas about to solve it.

In others post, anyone suggest to unistall Google app in Smartphone and don't update it to last version. I done it but without solutions.

Last idea is to perform a factory reset to V3 but I'm almost certain that it no works.

Any experiences about? Advices?

Thank you

  • Since you have a new Samsung, you surely already have Android 16. Please write if in this version of Android it’s finally possible to make normal calls through the watch, and whether the Bluetooth connectivity issue still occurs. On Android 15 this problem was widespread, whereas on Android 14 everything worked correctly.

  • If you go back in this thread there are reports from members that regardless of what Garmin said or hoped to happen with the release of Android 16, it made no difference. Even with the new version of Android, members are reporting that the watch defects continued.

  • I'm running Android 16 on a galaxy S24+, Garmin lied to us all as it is still not fixed and unlikely to be ever fixed as they won't take responsibility for it. Now they have released venu 4 (functions don't work on that either) they won't support the venu 3.

  • Yep just got android 16 on my S24 ultra yesterday. Did all the usual things to get assistant to work properly but no joy. Im not realy surprised but I  lived in hope.

Thankfully the rest of the functions work as expected and does everything I need, so I still have a great watch, just a shame this doesnt work as it was a great feature when it worked.

  • Same problem here with Android 16 (flip 7) along with Garming SW 16.07.
I tried all. It was working good with Apple. I tried changing "Bluetooth AVRCP versions" in the developer settings, none of them worked. I kinda feel like one of the changes would fix it but we need input from Garmin here.

  • Garmin, what's wrong with you? Where's the solution? You're trying to get yourself a class action lawsuit.

  • The bot named Garmin-Tracy says they're working on it.. don't you believe the bot? Joy

We just have to start ramping up the class action lawsuit. Do you know if anyone has started a separate thread either here on on another site they don't control?

  • Latest update from Garmin support. Its an issue with Android 16 and they are working on it. This sound familiar to its an issue with android 15 and they are working on it. I guess it will all be fixed with android 17, just hang on in there.

  • Hard to believe that they are still working on it. Maybe there is a ticket waiting for a dev when "there is time for it", but if Garmin wanted to fix it as an urgent issue they would have alredy.

I alredy went with a refund for the watch and ordered Pixel Watch 4 instead. So far all features work very well. Unfortunatelly the battery does not last as long as Venu did, but at least the watch work as expected.

  • If you believe they are working on it then I have a bridge to sell you.  They released the Venu 4, so most development on the 3 is basically done at this point, even though the hardware is almost identical and they could use the same firmware for both they aren't going to because they want you to buy the new model.

I am not rushing to upgrade as it's just a heavier watch with one less button and a brighter screen (I think this one is too bright on the lowest setting) resulting in less battery life.

Either way they seem to have given up on this "feature" isn't well advertised anymore on the Venu 3 or 4. And the same issue seems to happen with the 4 as well, with them counting on Android 16 to solve it and going radio silent when it didn't.

I just hope they fixed the speaker and microphone as I can't hear anyone on a call and they can't hear me.
