Google voice assistant issue

Hello

I updated my venu3 to latest firmware (13.19) just a few minutes ago and I was happy to read in changelog report "Improvements to Voice Assistant interactions with various Android phones"

  1. My happiness stopped just later to have a long press on central button of my V3 SmileJoy

I've not any ideas about to solve it.

In others post, anyone suggest to unistall Google app in Smartphone and don't update it to last version. I done it but without solutions.

Last idea is to perform a factory reset to V3 but I'm almost certain that it no works.

Any experiences about? Advices?

Thank you

  • I have just had some limited success with moving back from Google Assistant to Gemini.

With Gemini I get some limited interaction back to the  watch. I don't get the connection issue.

But... If I use the watch and say "send a text message", on the watch I then hear the assistant say "what do you want to say", I then get the mic controls pop up.

So it's better as at least the watch responds. But still not fully working.

Pixel 8a, android 16, Venu 3 latest version

  • Well it's a small step in the right direction. I don't use Gemini though so not enough progress for my needs.

  • I tried gemini immediatley after upgrading to Android 16 and it did not work for me. Maybe some other relevant updates happened since.

But your post motivated me to try a different voice assistant and I remembered that both firefox and tasker show up as choices in the selection of voice assistant app. Of course, neither one has the functionality of google assistant but I decided it's worth a try. They did not work on the phone side -- the phone wanted me to switch to google assistant. But they seemed to work on the watch side -- the watch connected and was listening.

  • Well thats mine all packed up and return booked in; had enough of empty promises..

  • @2889525 most so called "product reviews" are more or less repeat of marketing lines, most reviewers even don't test all features and functions so I suspect they didn't even notice that Venu3 voice comands didn't work

  • Yay, I tried yesterday what you described. Firefox can use https for apps and websites.Watch connected to Firefox and its Assistant immediately, but then the Phone (Nothing 2a, Android 15) gave me the notification that I have to use Google.

I don't know if Google can use https on apps and websites. Still searching in the settings. I'll try.

  • I gave it up and send it back today. Such a nice watch. But if Assistant doesn't work not better as my sq2 music. I'll try now a cheap watch for all days and maybe also for my trainings. If my individual trainings are not possible, I'll continue my trainings with the sq2. Hope that Google fit than works. Why so difficult? We just want to have one watch for all. Garmin, you disqualified yourself

  • Suddenly started working this morning. No recent updates, no settings changed, just started to work as it should, just like when I bought it. Unfortunately short lived, stopped working 2 hours later. This is still on android 15. Please give us an update on when it's going to be fixed. Android 16 update is not the solution.
