Google voice assistant issue

Hello

I updated my venu3 to latest firmware (13.19) just a few minutes ago and I was happy to read in changelog report "Improvements to Voice Assistant interactions with various Android phones"

  1. My happiness stopped just later to have a long press on central button of my V3 SmileJoy

I've not any ideas about to solve it.

In others post, anyone suggest to unistall Google app in Smartphone and don't update it to last version. I done it but without solutions.

Last idea is to perform a factory reset to V3 but I'm almost certain that it no works.

Any experiences about? Advices?

Thank you

  • Also have this problem on Asus Zenfone 10 16/512G. Android 16 is not a solution as I have just recently received Android 15 update, which will be the last Android for my relatively new phone.

And just to have a better perspective I googled "Android Version Market Share Worldwide". Not a single chart, even dated June 2025 does not contain Android 16 =) The 1st place is Android 14. Android 15 is on 3-5th places)  Not even a whiff of version 16)

So, this quite vital feature is completely broken for me now =(

  • Maybe your developer team should integrate the interaction with Assistent i.e. Gemini completely new into the watchs' software (Venu 3s) and the Apps. Probably easier. Probably faster. Probably better. Probably full function. Probably happy watch owner

  • Just tested on Pixel 9 Pro with Android 16. Issue is the same as described by others. For me the issue exists since I have bought the watch last year. In the beginning even the base bt connection was very unstable and required restarts. Kind of sad since the calls and assistant were the main reason to switch from Venu2.

  • Android 16 has zero market share because it was released only today.

But even if we accepted Android 16 as a "solution", there would be a problem -- the bug is still there with Android 16.

  • Ohh no, really? Got an pixel 9 pro. Waiting for Android 16. I had my Venu 3 before my Pixel. And at the beginning Gemini worked well on my Venu 3. Just until an update on my Venu. Calls, and replying on messages have been my mean reason to switch from Fitbit to Garmin. Sad, the fitbit worked better on this.

Btw. Does you ECG app work on your Venu?

  • Upgraded to Android 16 today and the problem is still there.

As for ECG app - it works for me, just double checked.

  • Samsung S23 user here with Andriod 15 and experience same issue. I would expect with so many impacted on multiple devices and versions and such amajor functionality that this is addressed with priority....with background in IT, i know nothing is impossible but it is all about priorities and allocated resources......

  • Updated to android 16 with the excitement that I would finally have this functionality back. But no, as reported by others, Android 16 does not fix this issue. This functionality should really be pulled from all advertising of this product now.

Phone is Pixel 8a, running andoid 16. Watch is on SW version 14.15.

Google assistant and voice calling still not working. Same behavioour as before.

  • No, alas android 16 isn't the fix for this issue. Still very broken on a pixel 8a running android 16. A pixel is the base android phone - so if this functionality doesn't work on a pixel what hope is there for others.

We know you can fix it!
