Google voice assistant issue

Hello

I updated my venu3 to latest firmware (13.19) just a few minutes ago and I was happy to read in changelog report "Improvements to Voice Assistant interactions with various Android phones"

  1. My happiness stopped just later to have a long press on central button of my V3 SmileJoy

I've not any ideas about to solve it.

In others post, anyone suggest to unistall Google app in Smartphone and don't update it to last version. I done it but without solutions.

Last idea is to perform a factory reset to V3 but I'm almost certain that it no works.

Any experiences about? Advices?

Thank you

  • Same issue here. The bug is not fixed with 13.19. S24 Ultra with Android 14. I need a support code to upload logs.

  • Try unpairing your watch from your phone's Bluetooth (forget the device) and remove the watch from your app then restart both the phone and watch.  Setup the watch as a new device in the Garmin app.   That fixed my issue.  Now if there was a way to block these needless, broken forced updates...  I'm from the camp of don't fix what is not broken....

  • Thank you for the hint. I tried that and it doesn't fix the issue. While reconnecting, the Garmin Connect app tells me, that my mobile phone doesn't support all features of the Venu 3. I believe this message isn't true, because all worked before the update.

  • Do you perhaps have another watch bt connected? I am thinking that some kind of bt conflict ocvures. Plus please tell me which phone you have.

  • Just the venu 3, no other watch. I have other BT devices paired (headphones, etc.) but not in use at the same time. My phone is Samsung S24 Ultra with Android 14 (latest update).

  • Ok, I repaired the watch several times and sometimes I got this message, sometimes not. So I unpaired a previous watch and it dissappeared, however it still does not work for answering phone as it should.

  • My Apologies, I should have explained better. While the symptoms are displaying differently, it is the same root cause. We have run across this in testing

  • I'm sure there are many more people experiencing this problem than the number of people reporting it here. So I really don't understand why Garmin can't do what others already suggested -- roll back the update. Surely, Garmin can publish a new version that is identical to the last version known to work by updating only the version number and whatever else is required for the watch to recognize/flash the update. Once this is done, your engineers can work on a fix without pressure from unhappy users, without using customers as unwitting beta testers, without losing customer loyalty.

  • Same problem. It activates assistant on phone but watch still says connecting

  • Update as of 3/25/25

    1) The live version of 13.19 has been released. Once installed ECG should be available again

    2) We are still actively researching the Google Assistant issue. While many people were resolved by 13.17 and/or 13.19, we are aware that not everyone is fixed. If you are still experiencing this issue on 13.19, we would appreciate it if you send in the Garmin Connect App logs (if you have not already, if you have.. We appreciate you!) from your Android. If you need a code and steps to do so, please post here and I will get one to  you
