i also have an edge 840 and can use the garmin adaptive cycling and running coach with it.
on the edge 840, i can start the cycling workouts and train by watts or heart rate.
on my venu 3, however, the garmin coach doesn't show the workouts and i can't do them directly. neither cycling or running. i hope they'll fix that soon.
