Automated Sleep Mode -still no adequate way of Venu 3S detecting sleeping hours

The sleep tracking in my Venu 3S is absurd with the sleeping schedule that you input when you first use your phone.

It is not realistic that one goes to sleep every night at the same time and wakes up every morning at the same time sharp.

A smart watch should be able to detect that.

Why the only options we have are either clicking manually a button that would track your sleep, or setting again a manual timer for a sleeping schedule?

There are many brands of watches out there that have automatic sleep detection.

Also, when the sleep tracking is not exact (let's say you go to sleep later than your schedule for the day, but you can't disable the automatic ridiculous schedule Garmin obliges you to use), all the other functions related to it are deceitful - body battery, stress and even the HRV because they're all related to the sleep that Garmin doesn't know how to track.

Why hasn't Garmin improved this super important feature for so long??

How come this problem hasn't been looked at by @Garmin?

  • Sleep times and sleep stages are identified using a combination of heart rate, heart rate variability and body movement data. Age information that you enter during setup and detected personal physiological baselines provide valuable context for the analysis and improve the reliability of your sleep tracking.

Setting up your sleep and wake time serves two purposes:

    • Establishes the standard window of time to assist in sleep detection
    • Establishes a window of time to put the watch in Sleep Mode as an automatic Do Not Disturb mode

Please Review - My Sleep Statistics Are Not Displaying in Garmin Connect

    Where  I would start -

    1. Movement – Are steps being counted during the time frame you are asleep?
    2. Heart Rate - Is there a notable difference between your all-day heart rate data and your heart rate during your sleep period?
    3. Stress Scores (HRV) – Is your Stress score during your sleep period higher than 25 on a regular basis?
