Walk Indoor is even less accurate than it was before 3.17 update.

Since I updated my watch yesterday I have noticed that distance measurements for Walk Indoor are even worse. I just walked 1.7km on thredmil but the activity detected it as 0.63km. This is almost 3x less. We still have no way to calibrate it the way regular Treadmill activity allows us to do. This is quite disappointing. Are there any fixes that we could apply? Will any work be done on this? I don't want to use Treadmill activity for walking since it counts as running and I collect walking badges, which are fun by the way!

Before ver 13.17 my watch measured indoor walk distances about 20% low. I put in a custom stride length via Garmin Connect. This was via the lower right 3-dot "More" icon, then Settings, User Settings, Custom Stride Length. This improved my results. However, after 13.17 I was back to the 20% low problem. I cycled my Custom Stride setting in Garmin Connect and synched by watch several times, but haven't tested this fix as yet. Soon.

Thank you for the suggestion! I don't think I ever added a stride length, since, like you said, the error in the distance was about 20%, and I decided to just overlook it. But after the update, the difference between treadmill and watch distance measurement is too big. I will try adding stride length and will test the results.

BTW, Treadmill activity has its own calibration. Should show up on walk/runs of over 1.5 Km, but certainly at 2 Km. Calibrate option shows up after first top button press as choice, something like "calibrate" or "save".

Interestingly, I seem to have an issue with saving default stride length. If I keep the Connect app open, the custom stride I set remains active, but if I close the app and open it again, the custom stride option is turned off and the values are deleted.

I just tried to duplicate a second time and was unable to. Does it still not save the custom stride for you?

It is still deactivating the stride length and deleting the values if I close and re-open the app.

Connect ver 5.9.1 My custom stride length seems to be holding after close and re-opening.

Mine is also 5.9.1 and I confirm that custom stride deletes itself after re-opening.

Mine has changed too. My treadmill walks were accurate within 3 hundredths of a mile. After the software update they're off by a tenth of a mile. Not a lot, but relatively speaking, it's a big difference.
