Why dont i have any data on vo2 max? It's like my Garmin Venu 3 doesn't measure it

I can't see any data from my VO2 max on my Garmin Connect, it just says *no data available" Almost like it doesn't measure it.

  • When did you purchase/start using your Venu 3 device? The watch requires three weeks of consistent sleep data to display your heart rate variability status.

  • With all respect, you could at least have pretended that you actually read the question considering this user asked about his VO2 max, and you respond explaining something about HRV? It's nor asking for too much to answer an one-sentence question. I too have wondered how VO2 is being measured, as it is not explained anywhere.

From what I gather, you need to track outdoor activities, and by means of magic the watch then calculates the VO2 based off some secretive data, as VO2 is not even listed anywhere in the stats of any given activity. But I have noticed that it only refreshes after tracking an outdoor activity. So ya, an answer how the watch actually does it and that would have been corresponding to the question would have been nice

  • My understanding is that it calculates it only after certain activities such as recording a walk or run. Personally I’d love to see it try & calculate it from cycling without the need for a power meter (I commute 20 miles/day by bike and have done for years) but it won’t.  I could buy one I guess but am not that bothered about spending the money just to impress my watch (shrug). It is what it is, not perfect, just very good

I could buy & fit a meter I guess but am unwilling to spend the money just to impress my watch (shrug). It is what it is, not perfect, just very good (usually)

  • My apologies, sometimes the brain locks in on the wrong topic. For V02 Max to update - You need to record an outdoor GPS supported activity in which your heart rate stays at or above 70% of your Max Heart Rate for at least 10 minutes. If you are new to Garmin Devices you may need to record 3-4 activities for the device to build a baseline.

I recommend reviewing the following as well
