Running Intervals repetitions limit

Hi,

So I have the Garmin Venu 3 since November, and yesterday I tried the running intervals for the first time, and I was EXTREMELY frustrated. It's a tiny thing, but so frustrating

So I set up the running duration, and then the rest duration, and then I wanted to define the number of repertitions to 40 (I'm a soccer ref, it's to train for an official test). But the maximum number of repetitions allowed is 20!!!!!! Can't do more than 20 repetitions with this watch, I will never understand this weird limitation.

I know that with a Forerunner this issue doesn't exist, but I do a lot of fitness training, so I picked this watch thinking it would be an all around watch checking all the boxes. Now with this limitation I'm kind of upset

Any way you know on how to do running intervals with no limit for the repetitions? Maybe there's an app or something? Any idea?

Thank you!

  • Can I suggest you create a workout on the Connect website.  The workout would have 2+ repeat sections.  Section 1 would have 22 repeats of Run/Recover (I use recover as walk).  If I remember right, you can go up to 40 repeats.  If you want more, just make a section 2 and do the repeats again.  I hope that's somewhat clear.  But, for me, i use Recover as Walk.

  • Oh wow thank you. With the app I was able to create the training I needed. Still think the 20 limit is a bad idea, but at least now I have what I need. Thanks a lot!
