Issue while changing breathwork technique

My girlfriend can't change breathing technique on her Venu 3s anymore since the last firmware update (12.11). The watch reverts to the previous breathing technique after selecting "do workout".

  • Hello!

When starting the breathwork activity, while on the Ready screen, you should be able to swipe up from the bottom of the touchscreen and choose Techniques to alter the technique. Is she not seeing that option when she swipes up?

  • Hello

It's exactly what we do but the watch come back to the previous selected technique.

  • I am unable to reproduce the same on my Venu 3. Have you tried a hard reset or resetting to default yet?

    1. Press and hold the top side button for 15 seconds until the screen turns black.
    2. Disregarded any messages that may appear on the screen.
    3. Once the watch is off, press and hold the top side button for 2 seconds and let go. You should see a triangle appear. Wait for watch to complete bootup.

  • Hi I am having the exact same issue and cannot fix this since the last update. I use Breathwork everyday, specifically the 4-7-8 technique but it keeps reverting to the 3-3-3-3.

  • I was having the same thing. I could only get the two Relax and Focus techniques. I noticed the Coherence and Tranquility techniques had blue dots to the left of the name. When I tried to select either of them, it just gave me one of the R&F activities. I saw on the "What Is the Breathwork Activity Profile" page and it said to check my Venu 3 manual. Of course it didn't say anything useful or describe the techniques. I tried to search for what the blue dot meant without luck. I did find some references to people selecting an activity and hitting back and other random touches. I'm not sure what did it but I eventually was able to get both Coherence and Tranquility to come up and the blue dot went away. Good luck trying some of this to see if it helps.

Can you let us know what the blue dot next to a breathing technique means and what actually eventually allowed me to select the unavailable techniques?

  • Blue Dots are used to mark list items as "not yet attempted", they are more commonly seen on workouts created in Garmin Connect and synced to the watch. I typically use the 4x4, that didn't have a dot while the other 3 did. The dots should disappear as you try each of the techniques. Unfortunately, I was unable to reproduce not being able to access one of the breathwork types and am not seeing a resource that would explain why they wouldn't be available. It becomes nearly impossible to troubleshoot if it is now behaving as expected and we cant reproduce. I'm afraid that for now that part remains a conundrum.

  • Hi this is an issue that has been reproduced by someone at Garmin and is trying to be fixed in the next update.
