Golf Yardages not updating - Venu 3

Hi,

The watch gets the course fine in the last few rounds I have played, but the yardages don't update as you move around the hole. It does seem to move between holes fine, but it only seems to display static yardages, many of which seem to be longer than the hole, almost as if it is taking the yardage to the green from the moment it moves to the new hole.

I can sometimes get it to start updating by moving to a previous hole and then back to the current hole. However, sometimes even this doesn't work. This is not great as the main reason I bought this watch was that I could use it day to day and then on the course, too.

  • It is definitely NOT fixed.  Did a total factory reset.  Updated everything and it does not work needing many refreshes. 

  • When can we expect a fix that actually works?

  • Can someone from Garmin acknowledge that this still is NOT working. 

    Email support just blew over all the many details I gave them and the steps I took already which was everything possible. He said it's marked as fixed. 

    We know it is marked as fixed BUT it is not fixed so would be nice to know they are aware it still needs to be fixed. 

     I am using 2 watches Venu 3 and Venu 3s both updated, reset, and on 12.11 and this is definitely NOT fixed. 

  • Agree, not fixed.....come on Garmin, not good enough for your loyal customers to have products that simply don't do what was advertised to do.

  • The 12.11 still does NOT work. Although I still haven't got anyone at Garmin to acknowledge it is not fixed, I did FINALLY manage to get support to open a NEW case and provided them with the videos and diagnostic logs. 12.11 is proven to still NOT completely work on my Venu 3 and wife's Venu 3S. Both completely updated, reset, etc.. It is improved BUT still fails to refresh most of the time especially when getting to the next hole requiring a manual refresh by advancing to a different hole and then back to get it going again. This needs to be done on most holes, (2 different watches and 2 different courses)

  • Good work and well done. We pay good money if I knew this was going to happen I would have purchased another type of watch and would have saved $500 and it would be working for golf every day. 

  • I play 2-3 times a week. It's better but not fixed. 

  • Hi , I have a very similar problem as discribed above with my Garmin S60 but when going into settings it says no updates ? Is there an answer to this issue ? Thanks 

  • I finally got to play today what with Xmas and holidays. Everything worked well,  had no problems. Watch tracked as before the update that ruined everything. Hopefully this continues.

  • Sadly, I have 2 watches that need refreshing between each hole one time per hole. 

    Unfortunately, support is still reluctant to believe me that it is the software still? Making me jump through hoops with diagnostics. 

    It is not the watch and it is the software easily proven since I have Venu 3 and wife has Venu 3S and both watches do the exact same thing. Each watch is registered on separate Garmin account, separate phones, apps etc.. Mine has new settings they made me try and hers is on factory settings still. 

    Garmin needs to FIX it. 

    Seems like it is working for a few people and not for others for some reason.
