Sleep tracking over defined times

Hi,

here is something I dont understand. I set up sleep times but if I ever oversleep those times (I’m a big snoozer) my watch won’t track this. For example today it stopped tracking at 7:51 when indeed I stayed in bed and had probably REM sleep and light sleep until 8:25. Is there any way to track this over time sleep ?

  • Mine typically tracks sleep beyond defined sleep times (sometimes the opposite, for to long!). Have you been tracking sleep for long, or did you recently start? I might get better as you use it more.

  • Thanks for your response. I’ve had the watch for a month now, coming from 10 years of Apple Watch Sweat smile so I’m still adjusting and find it odd that the tracking won’t go over defined sleep times. I can mannually edit wake time but then it just adds « light sleep » which is completely inaccurate… although it really does track when I fall asleep even after defined sleep time.

  • Hi Sydney - Sleep tracking should not be stopped simply because the ending sleep time has been reached. There would need to be a change in heart rate, heart rate variability, stress level or rate of movement for the device to end sleep tracking. I would reach out to Garmin Support for assistance. They have the ability to review your sleep information with you and look for contributing factors that may be impacting sleep tracking.
