Google voice assistant not working on venu 3s

I guys I just bought a venu 3s 2 days ago but I cant get my watch to connect with my android's google assistant. Someone previously asked this question and it was fixed for them after a connect update. But I just installed Gramin connect 2 days ago so had to be the latest version. Its frustrating cause it was the whole reason to get this watch

Take a look at Setting Up Voice Assistant on Your Garmin Watch. I had to go through the section for Google Assistant Virtual Personal Assistant to get my own device working as desired. If that doesn't get the Google Voice Assistant working, Please reach out to Garmin Support for assistance

Just got a venue 3s for Christmas. Getting it to connect to Google assistant is extremely hit or miss, heavier on the miss. I've uninstalled Google updates, occasionally it works but most of the time it doesn't. I can see that it is triggering on the phone, but the watch is not showing anything and I get a red pop up telling me it can't connect. Then I get a another pop up when I try to retrigger it telling me the phone is not connected to the watch.

I ended up returning this watch and getting a replacement (same model) as it started having other connection issues.

It seems to have stopped working again after updating to 13.17.
