Watch keeps disconnecting.

My watch keeps disconnecting from Samsung A41. It only synces a short time after restart of both devices. Sometimes the dot is green but I see no HR reading ans when I press sync, it starts and never ends. Using Connect IQ is almost impossible. It also causes my earphones disconnect from BT. It is very frustrating.

  • Have you checked to make sure the phone isn't killing the app and preventing it from running the background? 

  • I used Vivoactive 4S until yesterday for 5 years and it worked perfectly, no issues with connection. Anyway I looked into apps settings/GarminConnect but nothing from those settings appeared suspicious. What should I look for?

  • Ha, I think I solved it!  I uninstalled Connect and ConnectIQ (as they were originally associated with my previous Vivoactive 4S), restarted phone, reinstalled the apps, allowed all necessary permissions, paired Venu again and voila! it works - keeps being connected to the pone. 

    Evidently it seems that adding another watch to devices in Connect was the problem, even when I removed previous watch. Clean installation was necessary for some reasons. 

    Maybe this would be worth adding to troubleshooting advice, in addition to classical "unpair watch, restart phone and watch, pair again". For those having disconnection problem when switching from older Garmin watches, advice should be to make a clean new installation of Connect app.
