I would like to suggest adding a confirmation step both when detecting and stopping an activity to improve accuracy and user control. Here’s the detailed proposal:
-
Activity Detection Confirmation: When the watch detects a consistent activity for more than 5 minutes, it should notify the user with something like, "Activity Detected," and suggest what the activity is (e.g., walking, running, hiking). The user can then confirm or adjust the detected activity to ensure it’s correctly tracked.
Alternatively, the user should also have the option to dismiss or "Skip" the activity detection or stopping for a specific time period (e.g., "Don’t notify me for the next 30 minutes, 1 hour, 2 hours, or 4 hours") to avoid interruptions during longer activities.
-
Stop Confirmation: When no activity is detected for a certain period (e.g., if the user stops moving), the watch should ask for confirmation before stopping or pausing the activity. This would be helpful in situations like waiting at a stop sign or taking a short rest, preventing the fragmentation of the activity data.
This feature would enhance the user experience by ensuring activities are tracked accurately and continuously without unnecessary stops, while giving the user control over the activity tracking process.
My suggestion is based on my Venu 3, But I am sure it could benefit other watches too.
