Auto Brightness no longer working properly

My wife has a 3s with 10.20 firmware. All has been fine until this past weekend when we had a blackscreen. Nothing worked. I was able to reset (hold power for 15 seconds, then restart) but since then the brightness on automatic is WAY too bright (set to low) and also doesn't seem to react to changing lighting conditions.

Setting to manual and adjusting a dozen times each day is not a solution Disappointed

Anyone have any inputs / solutions to this?

  • Just a quick update in case it helps someone else. The touchscreen function became sporadic, the screen itself blacked out, blinked, went white or displayed corruption (horizontal lines) in a random fashion. I contacted support and, after some guided diagnostics, they have confirmed the screen is defective (after 9 months). The watch is now on its way to Garmin Support and will be replaced under warranty.

    Not ideal.

    However, Garmin Support (once I got through to them) was very helpful. So thumbs up to them.
