Step goal animations gone in 10.20

Since update to 10.20, step goal animation never appears on my Venu 3S anymore. I still get animations when I hit other goals (intensity minutes, floors climbed, hydration, etc) but nothing for steps. I tried turning alerts on and off in various configurations but that didn’t help.

Found a solution in a similar forum thread addressing the same issue in a different Garmin watch. Turns out it is not related to firmware upgrade/version at all. To trigger goal achievement notification, the relevant app (e.g. Steps) needs to be included in the Glances. Since I could get into Steps from my watch face I removed from my Glances to make it smaller around the time there was an upgrade, so thought upgrade caused the issue.

While it was exciting to get Steps goal achieved animation yesterday for the first time in months, this requirement with Glances is a bit silly. Makes it cluttered plus both the watch and the Connect app clearly know the goal was achieved even when app is not in Glances…
