Venu 3 dimming

When I start a Row activity on Venu 3, and row with watch attached to the rigger in front of me, the screen dims after a short time and the screen is too dim to read. I have Battery Saver turned off, Brightness set on High, and Always On selected. Hard to believe this dimming/battery saving feature can't be turned off. Is anyone aware of a work around? The main reason i purchased the watch was so i could monitor pace, distance, HR, and stroke rate while rowing. Frustrating.

I have noticed that as well. For some reason it is causing problems with my custom data field and it stops working after a while and displays a IQ screen instead. How do I turn this off?

Did you ever resolve this problem? I row on the open sea and have great difficulty reading the screen on my Venu 3. I previously had a Vivoactive 4S which worked fine!!

I gave up on my custom data fields on this. When I called support they told me to use just stock fields and that is all the supported. Ended up buying the new fenix 8 anyway....

It seems they designed the watch so it will dim regardless of user settings, so that the display will not be damaged. I can still start a rowing activity on the watch, so it will map my route, record heart rate, distance etc. But I’ll have to buy a Stroke Coach to see real time boat speed and heart rate.
