Venu 3 and Edge 520 plus

Hi all. First time writer.

I just got a Venu 3 and it has been great.

I cycle for exercise using an Edge 520 plus, wahoo speed/cadence and an external HR monitor. My goal was to use the watch to display some more data while on my rides. Maybe even having fewer data fields on the Edge so the text will be bigger, placing others on the watch.

I just learned that the Venu doesn’t do extended screen.

So, my question is: what options do I have with visual data when I ride using both devices.

My plan was to have HR stats and/or cadence stats on my watch, while having and have speed/time on the Edge, but it seems like they won’t talk. It seems like I only can broadcast current HR through the Venu to the Edge

Any creative thoughts on what data I can have on my watch and edge.

They won’t talk.

extended display works the other way. An edge unit can be a display for high end watches, but not the other way around.

you might want to try starting an aerobic activity on the watch and pair it to your sensors (probably need to use ant+, rather than btle).

you can discard the activity on the watch when done.

Since the Venu has a HR, I could just display that during the ride and use my chest strap for the edge if only to have hr data collected for that ride.
