Training Load is being added to Apple Watch

I just read that Apple will be adding Training Load to all the currently supported Apple Watches.

Venu 3 is falling behind.  Any chances of Garmin catching up to the smart watch market leader?

Apple watch is looking like a better long term investment.  Don't care about battery life all that much.

  • With the shortcomings that Garmin has, it will be quite difficult.

Everyone wants to have a full-featured product these days.
I won't have one watch for activities and one watch for notifications, payments, etc.
Look how many ailments the Venu 3 has in terms of smart features: tragic BT range (a fundamental problem), problems with calls, with notifications, assistant, etc.
The battery life is also different than declared.

People around me who have an Apple Watch don't have such problems. Only worse stamina. But I would gladly trade endurance for flawless functionality.

I know opinions about Huawei, Honor. Yes, cheaper Chinese products. But even there I had no problems at all.
Everything worked as it should. You certainly can't say that about Garmin, and I was personally quite disappointed.

I was kind of hoping that updates would gradually fix this, but that hasn't happened yet.

  • If you have an iPhone you're always going to get a better experience with an Apple Watch. That's the way Apple wants it. Perhaps you should get an Apple Watch.

  • Samsung watches adds custom workouts and body battery for all their watches starting from GW4 (model from 2021). And in very simple smart features venu3 has it a decade behind Galaxy Watch.

The thing is: AW and GW improve there health/fitness features, if this will continue this way, very fast long battery will be the only benefit of Garmins with a long list where it worse.
And limiting features, like training load and maps, to this or that model "just because we can" will push people away even stronger.

  • Exactly. I bought the Venu 3 for the battery life. But if I had known the problems with the venu 3 at the beginning, I would have waited for the Galaxy Watch 7.
