Assistance Needed with New GPS Navigation Feature on Venu 3

. That’s why we’re here asking the question. How to get the new software feature to work. 

Why is it so difficult to get an answer on this? If something new is added, then why not immediately link to a description? You can imagine that users have no idea how a completely new feature is supposed to work, especially when it's not even in the manual.

It's in the manual. Granted, Garmin manuals can be a bit convoluted, though.

And does it work for you? 

My watch doesn't offer any route to my phone even after several minutes after losing connection (search is enabled)

I was able to use the GPS navigation feature on the Venu 3 device after the software update to version v10.20. To use this feature, I had to start an activity and move with the paired smartphone for a certain distance.

Here is how I tested it: I walked approximately 50 meters from my home and then returned home, leaving my smartphone at home. I then started walking again. When the pairing with the smartphone was lost, I waited a moment, and a message appeared indicating that I had forgotten my smartphone. It showed the direction and distance to the smartphone.

It started automatically (no activity in progress) on my Venu 3.  I had left my phone in the truck (on purpose for a canoe trip), the watch asked me if I wanted to navigate back to it.  Since I could see my truck, and knew why I left my phone behind, I cleared the notification.
