My venu 3 is really inaccurate when it comes to sleep/wake times. I wake up many times during the night and my venu fails to catch that. Instead it indicates that I am asleep. I have the latest software and did a reset already. What can be done?

For some users, it is just bad. For me, sleep tracking is totally useless. With the Apple Watch, I didn’t have any problems. I also wake up at night, but Venu doesn’t recognize wake times at all. Also, during the day, I’m constantly having false nap times. I like my Venu 3 other than that.
Disclaimer: This is my experience and opinion. I get up at least 2-3 times most nights. Short trips to the bathroom mostly.
If you have complicated sleep patterns, smartwatches simply fail to recognize and be sensitive enough to distinguish wake up, light sleep etc. My Pixel Watch 2 for example recognizes that I am getting up at night, but most of the time it does not record that I am going back to bed. This leads to incorrect 2-3 hour sleep per night. Sometimes it does Okay for a week and then reports garbage again. I used to have a Fitbit Inspire 2 and that actually worked great.
My Venu 3 actually works surprisingly well, much better than my Venu 2 (before I had the Pixel Watch 2).
As pojomtb writes, for some users even the best sleep algorithm won't work.
However, if you look at Quantified Scientist's review of many different watches (on youtube /watch?v=YVhmzxpw5Gg), you'll see that none are perfect and many should really only be used to track hours of sleep based on bed in and out time. Garmin and Fitbit are among the better watches. He compares sleep tracking against reference devices like the ZMax headband. Note that based on the Quantified Scientist's reviews over the years, the Apple Watch seems to be the best smartwatch when it comes to sleep tracking and other health/fitness tracking. I am not into the Apple ecosystem and less than 2day battery life is not for me.
Sorry that your Venu 3 is not tracking your sleep/wake. With my fitbits I sometimes had more luck with the watch on the other wrist. I realize that is not convenient.
Overall, sleep tracking is one of the most difficult things for any device and varies from user to user, but even for a single user with periods of good tracking and periods of bad tracking or even no tracking at all.
