Wrong distance during hiking

Hello,

I did two hikes today and yesterday and I noticed the distance was too much on Venu 3 compared to a forerunner 245. More precisely the distance was 1km too long on the two hikes which were around 10 km. After checking the forerunner is right.

On the two watches, auto-pause is disabled and smart recording is used.

Venu seems to have a gps drift while standing still. Maybe I should use auto-pause setting but it doesn't exist on hiking activity, and I don't use it on Forerunner anyway (with walking activity).

I tried today "Every Second" setting, gps settings were already to All Systems.

It didn't change anything, same drift and wrong distance.

I expect an update will correct this issue.

Let's adjust the GPS settings to All Systems. You will also want to change the Data Recording setting to Every Second for better accuracy. If you continue to experience this distruption, please reach out to your local Garmin Support team.

I Had the same issue with my Venu 3 with the Hiking App. Please, for the price of this watch I’m expecting a better management of the GPS! I understand “Drift” and it seems associated with the fact that the GPS module is more accurate… but in this case it’s REALLY not helping.
