Venu 3 connected to 2 devices

Greets all,

Before anyone makes comments of why or doesnt make sense, please take the time to read why I ask this.

I came from a fitbit ionic a few years ago and bought a Venu 2 and since I liked it so much I wanted a Venu 3 which the wife got me for Xmas. Since the New year I made it a point that I wanted to lose some weight and exercise, so without going into a very long story, I have my garmin connected to my phone with no issues, but my wife got me a samsung Tab s9 so I can connect it to my treadmill and listen to music and such during my runs. I also wanted to run along side the garmin connect to see in real time steps and heart rate, but for some reason the tablet and the watch have an issue connecting with bluetooth and fails. I got it working last night when I shut off my phone and connected it to the tablet but then it wouldnt connect to the phone again until I went through the process to re-pair it.

I dont keep my phone in the same room I workout in so there isnt a issue of bluetooth conflict, and wanted to know if this was by design? I know when I choose treadmill on the watch I dont expect that the garmin connect isnt going to show me that in realtime which is fine, but the real time of heart rate and steps should be okay. The reason for this is so I dont have to keep raising my hand to watch my HR or steps.

Thanks.

  • The Venu 3 can be paired to multiple devices at one time but will only connect to 1 device at a time. You should not have to re-pair the watch to the phone if you are signed into the same Connect account on the Tablet and the phone. You would just power off the smart device that you no longer want it connected to and open the connect app on the device you want it connected to to allow it to reconnect on it's own.

If this does not work, you will want to power cycle the watch and the smartphone and then open the connect app and allow it to reconnect.

  • In my experience you don't necessarily have to power off the device you're not connecting to. You may want to keep it on, for example, if it's your primary phone. Just turn off Bluetooth on any other device your watch is connected to (e.g., your pohne), while leaving BT on for the device you want to use (e.g., your tablet). I've had to re-pair on occasion, but usually when I have BT on on both devices at the same time.

  • Sorry for the late reply, Thank you for the suggestions, but I found the cause and solution to my dilemma. Thank you again.
