Why can't venu 3 have Google assistant for wearables instead of the crappy Bluetooth connection?

I came from an old Fitbit versa 3 and it had proper Google assistant

I'd happily loose another half of my storage space (if necessary) to have a better option than the unreliable Bluetooth audio device connection the Venu 3 is using now.

  • First of all, the Fitbit Versa 3 is not what I would call old, the Fenix 5X series for example is old (no offense on that).

Secondly, Google owns Fitbit, so they work to integrate it with Fitbit OS and that would make sense. It is another reason why Galaxy Watch 3 and earlier do not have native Google Assistant functionality because they ran Tizen OS and not Google's Wear OS.

I do not think it has to do with the storage availability, it has to do more with the OS support and the required processing power to use that functionality. A native Google Assistant app might never come to Garmin watches, so your best bet is to use the middle button of your Venu 3 to activate Google assistant. And you need a Bluetooth connection because there is no LTE on Venu 3.

  • I bought a Garmin specifically to get away from that Google CRAP...

I would happily burn my device if I see anything Google in it!
