Can anyone verify ECG disabled in 9.16 Beta?

Hi Everyone -

LOVING my Venu 3 that I just got for Christmas. Coming from an (old) Apple Watch the Venu 3 device is amazing, and I'm already encouraged to exercise more.

HOWEVER, I came across this (sketchy?) report from a blog that the ECG feature has been DELETED from the Venu 3 in the newest beta software 9.16!! Link below.

Boy, I'd be super upset if this is the case. Can anyone verify that the feature is missing? Can we turn off automatic software updates if so? How would I turn off auto software updates but remain able to sync to the phone?

Funny, I read that and was thankful to not be on beta upgrades.

I had set up the ECG app and took an ECG in November. Now I can’t find the ECG app in Apps on the watch even though Finish Setup shows I set it up. Anyone having this problem?

I’m on the 8.25 sw version

Remember that it requires 2 Factor Authentication setup on in the Connect App, and there is a geographic limitation outside of the US.

Important note about ECG App: Moving forward, the Beta software available for the Venu 3/3S will have the ECG App feature disabled. If you would prefer to keep the ECG feature accessible on your watch, we recommend not participating in the Public Beta program. The ECG App feature will be made available again on versions of beta software that we anticipate becoming Live updates. In other words, you will see the ECG feature become enabled again in Beta software toward the end of our quarterly beta cycles. The ECG App feature will remain available with Live software updates (on compatible watches).

Same issue here. Activated ECG via workaround 2 months ago (UK user), been using it frequently and all of a sudden it’s no longer available on the watch (Fenix 7 pro). I’m not happy.

Thanks Garmin Sara and others for replies. I am on ver 8.25, not beta and ECG has disappeared from my apps folder on the watch since I enabled it in November after DC Rainmaker posted that ECG was finally available.. When I go to Connect on my phone, it tells me it IS activated and shows the record of the ECG I did in November when I got the watch.

Is there a way to reenable. It is one of the key selling points for me along with V5 sensor.

The only way to re-enable this would be to roll back to the live firmware. Please see this forum for steps on this.

What is this workaround? Canada user and annoyed we do not have ECG enabled.

How do you know if you're on Beta upgrades? Was this a feature opted in or out during setup?

No, this is something you would have to manually enroll in by following these steps: Enrolling in and Learning About Garmin Beta Software Program

To check if you are currently enrolled in Beta, you can try following the above steps. If the option to Join Beta Software Progam is not available, this would indicate you are currently part of the beta program. However, this does not necessarily mean you have the beta software installed on your watch. To verify if the beta software is installed, please check the current software version on your watch: Menu > Settings > System > About. If the version is 9.15 or 9.16, you are on beta software. If it is anything lower than this, you are on the live version.
