Voice assistant not working on venu 3

I bought a venu 3 today and I cannot get the voice assistant working. It says "connecting" and eventually "no connection ". I read a couple of threads with the same problem but no one has a solution. I tried repairing and resetting the watch but it makes no difference. My phone is a OnePlus Nord 2T. Does anyone have a working solution?

Edit: in the Bluetooth menu the watch is called "watch" not venu 3. I only saw the name venu 3 once in my attempts to fix the voice assistant problem

  • Venu 3 here. Somehow, voice assistant is also consistently working with the triangle and mic. Hopefully this stays.

  • Good for you. Can't say the same for my venu 3 unfortunately. Still the same connecting forever.

  • Solution maybe?.... I was having an unrelated issue with my OnePlus 12 where I needed to reset my network settings. (wifi $ BT) I did this and then reconnected my Venu 2 Plus first and the assistant is working perfectly. FYI. I then reconnected my other Garmin devices to Connect and everything still working perfectly. Might be worth trying.

  • Voice assistant won't even start, i just get a "no phone connection" error message on the watch when I try.  the watch is connected just fine, the app says so, it pairs data in real time between watch and phone (heart rate), so not sure wwhat's going on.  Maybe the source of my huge battery drain problem?  Watch trying to connect to phone, even though it already is connected?  the issues never end....don't buy this watch if you are here just reading up on it....it's a rushed product, bad decision Garmin.

  • I actually bought a new phone to make it work. It works fine with S24. I use Bixby. I thought I'd use it more, but since the watch doesn't have speech to text like on the Pixel 2, I don't. The only reply option is preloaded words or the old texting style keyboard that you have to hit three times to get the last letter (key - "ABC" = C if hit 3 times). Furthermore, it won't control anything on the watch. So, useless...

If Garmin allowed Google Assistant to take over and work like the Pixel 2, this would be the most wanted watch on the market. The battery on the Pixel is a nightmare. So, I picked this watch for it's battery life. Battery life is hugely important to me. However, the ability of the Assistant on the Pixel 2 is AMAZING.

  • I bought a watch and tried to set up Google Assistant. I have a pixel 6a phone. After pressing the button to call the assistant, on the screen of the watch it says that it is connecting to the voice assistant, but the microphone does not appear on the screen, and then a message appears that it was not possible to connect. The assistant's microphone appears on the phone and the speech recording starts, the bluetooth volume control appears on the side of the screen and immediately disappears. In the bluetooth menu of the phone, the device is not recognized as a watch. The phone, app and watch are updated to the latest version. I removed the bluetooth device from the phone, rebooted the device, nothing does not help I am disappointed with this work. I tried using Google Assistant or Gemeni.

  • Welcome to the club, I have OnePlus 10 and it's like that since last October. Garmin would blame OP and Google and would ask you as a nobody to contact them, Garmin have no intentions to fix this.

  • I enrolled in the beta program yesterday and got the 11.08 beta installed on my watch. I then rebooted the watch after 11.08 beta was installed, and rebooted my iPhone for good measure. Since installing the beta I actually am able to answer and maintain calls for more than a minute at a time. The voice assistant is still not working 100% of the time, but seems to work more often than not. If there improvements continue who knows, but if they do it would indicate that the problems are at least partially due to Garmin firmware.

  • I had opened an actual ticket with Garmin back when this thread started. They emailed me this week to say the issue was resolved - by Google - and I need to download the latest Google app - from Google. So I disabled my Tasker routine and the assistant is indeed working correctly on my Pixel Fold.

  • thanks for posting. Is it working with or without the latest beta 11.08 that's mentioned above?
    cheers
