Venu 3 WhatsApp incoming calls not always can be answered from watch

Environment:

I have Venu 3 (software version 8.25). I use Samsung S22 with Garmin Connect version 4.74.

Issue:

2 out of 5 times when someone call's me using WhatsApp I don't have option to answer the call (similarily as when normal Phone call incoming).

In the good scenario, when a call is incoming, my Venu 3 shows Green mark on bottom of the display and red on top, just like when a Phone call is ringing. When I click the green I can talk and hear the other person through the watch.

In the bad scenario (in which sometimes at start for maximum 1-2 seconds watch displays option to accept or drop the call as in the good scenario) I dont have option to accept call. I just see a button with 3 dots at the bottom, when I click it I can accept the call, but it is accepted on the mobile Phone instead of Venu 3 watch.

PS: It can happen either when my phone is locked, unlocked and WhatsApp is closed and when I am using WhatsApp.

  • I have same problem. My Venu 3 cannot answer cellular or WhatsApp calls from my Samsung S23+. At best there is a ringing alert on the watch. When I clicked to answer, I still have to use the phone to talk.

    I wonder whether we can claim money back from Garmin for not delivering on their claimed marketing literature that Venu 3 can be used to answer calls. I chose and paid higher price for Venu 3 over other Garmins because of this feature. Could have bought a cheaper VivoActive if I do not want to answer calls. My previous Huawei Watch 2 worked very well. Loud, clear voice communications either way. It is a very useful feature when you cannot reach for your phone.
