I can't read sms messages on my venu3s, I get the notification but it only asks me to go to phone how can I read sms on watch

How to read sms on watch venu3 s. It only gives me notification and to dismiss or go to phone. Messenger text can be read, but not sms, is there something I need to change in settings?
