Daily summary and body battery

Since about 2 months I wear my venu 3 everyday from 05:30 - 22:30.

With this there seem to be two problems:

1. I don´t get a daily summary one hour before sleeptime

2. There are no entries of factors in the body battery...no activity, no stressful periode, no restfull day

Do i have to wear my venu 3 also over night? Or is the an issue with my venu 3?

(With my epix (Gen2) i don´t have these problems. Everything works fine an is shown.)

  • You have to wear it while you sleep to get these. If you don't wear it for sleep, how would it know when to send you the summary two hours before sleep time? I believe Body Battery need to  take measurements overnight to calculate how restorative your sleep was.

  • Yes, the body battery is useless if you don't wear your watch all the time. The only time I remove mine is during a shower. If your Epix is showing a good body battery without wearing the watch overnight, I wonder how it does, and maybe it's wrong. If you wear the watch during the daytime it can still record stressful moments and naps but I believe your body battery is stuck at 5 all the time, because only good sleep can restore the body battery by a healthy percentage.

  • I don't understand why I should wear the venu 3 overnight to get the data mentioned. In the Body Battery FAQs I found this: "If it is turned off for a long period of time (several hours), the value will reset based on a model and continue from that point after wearing."
This is exactly what is done on my venu 3 and Epix 2.
On my Epix 2, the factors and the daily summary are displayed based on this, which is fine for me.
So I don't understand why this doesn't happen with the venu 3.
The software versions shouldn't actually differ that much.
@Garmin-Zac: Garmin may improve something with an update.

  • I have no idea regarding the reset time period for Venu 3, nor the value that it will be reset to. But if you do that (not wearing for long hours), your data is bound to be inaccurate. Let's say you had a poor sleep, and your body battery should give you 20 points, but actually, you never wore the watch and the body battery is reset to 80 now. It can show that you are ready for a good run or whatever, but in reality, you are tired and you just want to take a nap. To make it accurate again, you need to wear the watch for around a week so that it can closely monitor your stress, and sleep patterns.

If you have multiple active watches, the body battery is taken only from 1 of them. So mark that watch as a Primary device and wear it. But on your watch, the body battery is separately shown to you, but in Garmin Connect, it takes only from the Primary device.

So, on your Epix 2, if you don't wear the watch overnight, what does it show for you in the Body Battery? Recharge to how much value and what does it mention?

  • I understand everything and can relate to it.
To your question: If I don't wear both the Epix 2 and the Venu 3 overnight, the next morning in both cases I see a body battery of approx. 85 and no "sleep" factor.
The difference is what happens during the day: while my Epix 2 then determines factors (training, stressful periode, quiet phase) including a daily summary and displays them in the body battery overview, nothing happens with my venu 3... it doesn't become a factor or daily summary and is not displayed graphically.
I just can't understand this different behavior. The behavior of the Epix 2 is sufficient for my needs.

  • So you wear both the watches on your wrist (left and right) and the Epix shows body battery factors and Venu 3 doesn't? And you mean on the watch right? It won't show on Garmin Connect, but did you check for Body factors on Venu 3 body battery widget?

For me right now it shows Sleep as one of the body factors (because I haven't done any activity today). It doesn't show moderate stress, but it shows high stress (when you are idle) and also shows any activity you did for the day.

Edit: Idle periods with low stress will be shown (if the body battery recharges)

Yes, that is exact what happens. The epix shows all the factors (including daily summary) and the venu 3 doesn´t. I wear both watches at the same time and in the same way. My venu 3 is set to my primary smartwatch.

  • I know the morning report is customizable. Did you try customizing it on your Venu 3? On your watch, Go to Settings>Notifications and Alerts>Mornign Report. Make sure it is turned on and you can select what data to be shown.

I thought you were asking about the Morning report, but you were asking Daily Summary. So let me correct it again. You don't get the Morning report am I right?

Garmin recommends using the watch at night for accurate body battery data. For body battery factors I am not sure why it is not displaying for you. Did you try resetting the watch?

The Daily summary is never shown in body battery factors. For me, it is sleep, naps (never took a nap, but others have commented it is shown), restful periods increasing body battery, any activity, and high-stress periods reducing body battery. These are the only things that will be shown on the Body Battery Widget on Venu 3. Maybe the Epix can show more because it has more data or it is a more expensive watch, so it displays more data.

  • I am asking for the Daily Summary which i don´t get (besides the factors).

Reset of the watch is already done.

Sure it is shown on the venu 3....after entering the body battery widget you have to press the start-/stop button and you will see the summary of the day how it for you until this point. In the evening it is the same as Daily Summary.

On my venu 3 there is only written "Not enough data"...Epix 2 is fine at this point.

  • Not sure why this is happening. Maybe contact Garmin and see. You can also try wearing the watch at night and see the next day if it shows the message or displays the factors.
