Venu 3 unable to take calls

I just received my Venu 3 today, updated it (v8.25), made sure garmin app is updated also, connected it to my phone, gave all permissions necessary, enable audio call from settings-system-connectivity-call audio
Whenever i answer a call from the watch by tapping on the green icon, it answers it but the audio is on my phone still and not on the watch. I try to force it from phone, bluetooth icon during calls, to switch it from phone to watch but it does not work, it switches back to phone.
After this happens and i close the call from my phone, watch still shows "calling" + the ui for calls incomming

I use Oppo Reno 8 Pro
before the venu 3 i had venu 2s

My wife uses Oppo Reno 5 with Venu 3S and has no issues since day 1

Also in the phone bluetooth connections it shows the Watch as "headphones" ( i tried to unpair it and re pair it multiple times)
On my wife's Oppo Reno 5, in connected devices, her Venu 3S it shows as "Watch" with also a watch icon

Hello, did you fix this? I am having the same issue on my Samsung phone. I think I will have to return the watch :( On my husband's phone it works well and we don't know how to solve this..

Hi, yes, i managed to fix this.

First i disconnected and unpaired the watch.

Uninstalled the app

Went to phone system app, Bluetooth and deleted the cache (on my phone is in settings - apps - app management - click on 3 dots and select show system app)

Installed the app again and followed the steps to pair the watch.

Somehow, first time, the bluetooth was not detecting the watch as watch, with watch icon, just regular bluetooth icon with watch name. I saw this on my wife's venu 3s and her phone and that's how i assumed something was wrong with the bluetooth pairing

Hello. Thank you very much. I followed exactly your steps and it still doesn't work. When I start the call from the watch it goes back to the phone. The same when I answer an incoming call on the watch. I'm going to return it :/

Did you also updated the watch to latest?

I had issues with phone calls not working, wifi not connecting, and voice assistant not working. Make sure that the device has permission to make phone calls and access assistant through Bluetooth (double check, my pixel 6a automatically disables it for some reason)
