Watch keeps turning screen on by itself

Hi there...

Since I purchase the Venu3 I find myself waking up in the middle of the night because the watch screen keeps coming on by itself...

I don't need to touch the screen. Anything that touch the screen (pillow, bed sheets) will turn the screen on..

The settings are all correct, but I can't seem to stop this watch from turning on at night when anything touches the screen... During the day is still a problem but less noticeable off course..

Still it would be nice if it only came on only on command (like the swipe of my finger) and not simply because anything has touched the screen...

I also notice that it does not happen all the times...

Never had this issue with the Venu Sq2. In a kind of way I did prefer the double tap on the screen, than the swipe...

Can someone from Garmin confirm that this is the normal behaviour of the touch screen? I honestly thought that it had to be a finger that touch the screen and not just anything...

This is currently not an option available on your watch model. However, you can lock the touchscreen: How Do I Lock the Touchscreen on My Fitness Watch?

Hi,

I can confirm this issue. The watch turns on although I have configured appropriate sleeping times and when going to sleep the sleeping mode and DND mode are correctly activated due to the sleeping times.

In the middle of the night the display turns on automatically and stays on.

Does Garmin monitor this kind of "forum" or it is just for look? If it is a bug, where can it be reported?

It would be nice if this could be fixed and implemented in the new firmware version 8.25...

I have the same issue. I would like a setting to force the screen to stay off until I press one of the buttons.

My watch from another manufacturer could do this. That functionality extended the battery life substantially.

It's not help. You can't lock touchscreen on garbage 3 , when you lock this garbage, if you tap, screen anyway wake up

I agree. The Lock Screen function does absolutely nothing to keep the screen from accidently coming on . It just turns on with a lock picture. But its still comes on and uses battery.

Perhaps you didn't read my first post or you don't understand English that well, so let me try again...

NO ONE is asking for an option here! What we are asking is for Garmin to fix this bug of the screen coming on when it feels like and not when we ask for.

Locking the touch screen does NOTHING! As it stand, the Venu 3 does not have a touchscreen, but just a screen almost always on. It has to be a bug in the software or a series of faulty touchscreen..

Can we please fix it or recall the watches and replace the screen??? Something is not right!
