When I play music from the watch during an activity, the voice/audio prompts are significantly quieter than the music and hard to hear. If I’m not playing music then I can turn up the volume and hear the audio prompts ok (as long as I'm not in a noisy environment) but otherwise the music is way too loud and I need to turn the volume down. I almost always use headphones but it has the same sound reduction on the watch speaker as well.
