Can not find the Physio TrueUp setting for my Venu 3?

Can not find the Physio TrueUp setting for my Venu 3? I looked also in the web interface! It is just my Primary Wearable? My Primary trainings device is an Edge 840! I can see that Physio TrueUp for this device is ON! I can not see cycling activities recorded with my Edge 840 on the watch?! When I record an cycling activity with my watch it showing up in all cycling activities , but is not used to calculate or modify my training status?

Venu 3 versions 6.22 and 7.07

Edge 840 version 18.25

EDIT1:  I found new information about Unified Training Status (UTS) / Physio TrueUp. And I did some extra tests.  It seems in new devices there will be no 'Physio TrueUp' setting because they are now UTS devices and syncronisation of trainingsinfo will allways take place. See link:

https://support.garmin.com/en-GB/?faq=EjPECQK58qA0xzJ5X74vm7#:~:text=Unified%20Training%20Status%20allows%20you,Primary%20Training%20Device%20(PTD).

But because a Venu series device ( Venu 3 ) is not a Sportwatch because it's Health & Wellness categorized, it can not calculate (yet?) training load (with firstbeat algoritms). Therefore only a partial syncronisation will take place. Recovery time and Body battery will be corrected in the watch. Training activities will be available on both devices  (it working now Edge 860 v19.08 / Venu 3 7.07). But unfortunately (for now?) the activities recorded with the Venu 3 are not taken in account in the trainingload and trainingstatus on the Edge 840.

  • Are you sure that the trainingload / status values are not updated?

I have my Forerunner 745 (which doesn't fully support TrueUp) set as secondary device and activities recorded with the Venu 3 are included in the Load Focus and Training Load overview as far as I can remember. The Body Battery values on the V3 are not updates when tracking a activity with the Forerunner 745 but that's probably because it doesn't fully support Physio TrueUp.

I did a quick writeup here but unfortunately I haven't been able to do some further testing since then.

  • On my Edge 840 v18.25 cycling activities recorded with the V3 did appear in the activity list but where not used on the trainingstatus pages. Yesterday I have updated my Edge to v19.08 so I will test again and give an update.

I think you ’re right about Body Battery not being updated on the v3. I wear this watch also during cycling but I´am recording with the ride with my Edge 840. I saw a limited correction of my body Battery on the V3 due to v3 hartrate sensor registration. But it’s known that the sensor will not record correct higher hartrate values, because of a sort powersave mode when no activity is started on the v3. Somewhere in the Garmin forum was suggested by Garmin to start also a cycling activity on the v3, but not to save te activity. Then the correct hartrate is recorded on the v3 and Body Battery (and Sleepcoach) will be accurate.

Because there is also I new (Beta) version 7.07 for the v3, I have to test again!

  • Hi Patric,

Same issue and i use the same work around. I have the v3 and edge 830.

It's a shame that we have 1000eur garmin stuff and don't get the exact data that we want!

Also no training readines in this combo!
