Will the Venu 3 track swim distance when doing drills?

I see the Venu 3 does not have a swim drill mode. Will it still track distance if in swim tracking mode?

Yes, it will track regular pool swim lengths (but no drills! - you're going to get an interval with 0m or wrong distance, depending on the drill type) and will detect stroke and open water swim distance.

do you have any recommendations how to use pool swim during drills? i don't need to have strokes, but it would be nice to record a distance at least

The Venu 3 is not capable accurately measuring distance for swim drills. If distance is important to you I would recommend looking into either Connect IQ apps that may help or watches that support the Swim Drill activity
